FOR US-BASED CREATORS

If you’re a US-based creator, we recommend setting up a Coinbase account. Coinbase is the largest crypto exchange on the market and is incredibly user-friendly. Go to https://www.coinbase.com from a browser on your computer, or download and open the Coinbase app for smartphones on Android or iOS to get started.

What you'll need:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • A government-issued photo ID (Coinbase does not accept passport cards)

  • A computer or smartphone connected to the internet

  • A phone number connected to your smartphone (Coinbase will send SMS text messages)

  • The latest version of your browser (we recommend Chrome), or the latest Coinbase App version. If you’re using the Coinbase app, make sure your phone’s operating system is up-to-date.

Here are the steps for cashing out your Voice balance to your Coinbase account:

  1. Set up a Coinbase account using Coinbase's instructions here.

  2. Open the Coinbase mobile app, log into your account, and click on the "Pay" button at the bottom right corner of your screen.

  3. Choose "Receive" and then change the asset source to "USD Coin".

  4. Copy the address that generates beneath the QR code.

  5. Go to voice.com/cashout.

  6. Paste your wallet address and click "Continue".

  7. Enter the withdrawal amount and click "Continue".

  8. Preview the withdrawal details and double-check that all the information is correct. Click "Confirm" when ready.

  9. After confirming, you'll see a pop-up message letting you know your USDC Ethereum transfer is on the way and may take a few minutes to show in your Coinbase account. Note: request speeds may vary based on network availability.

How do I convert cryptocurrency?

To transfer money from Coinbase to your bank account:

  1. Click the Buy/Sell button in the top right corner of your screen

  2. Navigate to the Sell tab and select USD-Coin

  3. Deposit to Cash should be selected by default

  4. Click Sell Now

  5. Go to Menu on the coinbase.com dashboard and click Assets

  6. Scroll down to view a list of Your Assets

  7. Click on US Dollar

  8. Click on Cash Out tab

  9. Enter the amount of cash you’d like to transfer to your bank account

  10. Click on Continue

  11. Add a payment method if you haven't already

  12. Select the debit card or bank account you’d like to see your cash in

  13. Click on Continue

  14. Review your Cash out preview. If correct, click on cash out now

  15. The transfer speed depends on your bank and could take up to 3 business days. Learn more here.

FOR GLOBAL CREATORS

If you’re not a US-based creator, there are a number of simple and easy withdrawal methods available to you. While we highly recommend Coinbase to our US-based collectors, it’s not the most user-friendly platform for our international creators. Instead, we recommend Kraken or Gemini for a much easier and simpler exchange process.

Kraken***

Supported USDC-FIAT trading pairs: USD, EUR, GBP, AUD

  1. Open an account with Kraken.

  2. Go to voice.com/cashout.

  3. Paste your Kraken wallet address in Voice as your payout address and submit.

  4. Deposit your Voice balance to Kraken.

Withdrawing from Kraken to your bank:

  1. Navigate to the Funding tab.

  2. Click on Withdraw.

  3. Search for the currency you wish to withdraw (USDC).

  4. Select a previously added address or add a new bank account to withdraw to.

  5. Enter your withdrawal amount.

  6. Confirm withdrawal.

Helpful tips:

  • Kraken has a deposit minimum of $10 USDC, should you deposit less than this amount, your funds will not display within Kraken until you deposit additional funds to meet the $10 USDC minimum through their service.

  • According to our Voice Discord community members, the Kraken mobile app is more user-friendly than the desktop version.

Gemini

Supported USDC-FIAT trading pairs: USD, AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, and HKD

Gemini is another great wallet option for Voice creators living outside the US who need to exchange USDC for their local currency.

  1. Open an account with Gemini

  2. Go to voice.com/cashout

  3. Paste your Gemini wallet address in Voice as your payout address and submit

  4. Deposit your Voice balance to Gemini

Withdrawing from Gemini to your bank:

  1. Navigate to the Withdrawal Page

  2. Select your currency from the dropdown

  3. Select the destination address

  4. Input the amount you want to withdraw

  5. Review the transfer details and select Request Withdrawal

You can use Coinbase to make a USDC exchange and withdrawal as an international creator, but it requires a number of additional steps, including establishing a Coinbase Pro account, and is not the most streamlined process for exchanging and withdrawing your money.

Coinbase

  1. Set up a Coinbase account using Coinbase's instructions here.

Moving money from Coinbase to your bank account

If your preferred crypto exchange is Coinbase, you HAVE to use Coinbase Pro to trade USDC for EUR and GBP.

  1. Set up or log in to your Coinbase account

  2. Open a new tab in the same browser and go to https://pro.coinbase.com/portfolios

  3. Click Deposit and choose USDC

  4. Choose Deposit from “Coinbase.com” and transfer your funds across

  5. Then go to “Trade” and in the upper left corner of the screen and select your preferred market (e.g. USDC-GBP)

  6. Return to your Coinbase Pro https://pro.coinbase.com/portfolios to withdraw it back to your normal Coinbase account

  7. Click the Buy/Sell button in the top right corner of your screen

  8. Navigate to the Sell tab and select whichever coin you exchanged your USDC for

  9. Deposit to Cash should be selected by default

  10. Click Sell Now

  11. Click Withdraw funds on the next screen

  12. Enter your withdrawal amount and click Continue

  13. Follow the prompts to add a card, bank, PayPal**** account, etc.

  14. Confirm the payout, your funds will arrive in 1-3 days.

****To avoid bank fees in the UK or EU, withdrawing to a PayPal account in Coinbase is the way to go. Big shoutout and many thanks to our EU and UK-based community members in Discord for this helpful tip - y’all are the best!
