What is NFT migration, and why should I do it?

NFT migration allows you to take NFTs that haven't been minted yet or that were previously minted on the Voice private chain and mint them on one of the following public blockchains:

  • EOS

  • Ethereum

  • Polygon

To ensure that you maintain full control over the content you own, you should migrate NFTs to a public blockchain, which enables you to access them in your wallet independently from Voice and to list them for sale on other marketplaces.

Which NFTs can I migrate?

You can migrate any NFT you own that has not already been minted to a public blockchain as long as it is not a series.

Which blockchains can I migrate my NFTs to?

You can migrate your NFTs to EOS, Ethereum, or Polygon.

Does it matter which blockchain I choose?

Which blockchain you choose will depend on your personal preference, projects, and where you wish to store your NFTs. We recommend choosing a blockchain you are familiar with and comfortable using.

Keep in mind that migrating NFTs to Polygon and EOS is free for you (Voice pays the gas fees), but you must pay gas fees to migrate to Ethereum.

For more information to help you choose which blockchain is right for your artwork, please see the article here as well as OpenSea's Help Center page here.

Can I migrate some NFTs to one blockchain and other NFTs to a different blockchain?

Yes. When you select the NFTs you want to migrate, you can select as many or as few as you want and then choose where you want to send the selected NFTs. So, if you want to send some NFTs to Ethereum, you can select those and start the migration process. Then, if you want to send some other NFTs to Polygon, you can repeat the process with any remaining NFTs.

How do I migrate my NFTs?

Complete the following steps to migrate your NFTs.

  1. On Voice, select the profile button in the upper-right corner of the screen, and then select Migrate NFTs.
A screen displaying a list of NFTs eligible for migration appears.

  2. Select the NFTs you want to migrate, and then select Migrate selected NFTs.
Tip: You can select the Select all check box to select all of your NFTs that are eligible for migration.

  3. Select the blockchain to which you want to send your NFTs, and then select Continue.
A screen appears, asking you to confirm that you want to migrate the selected NFTs.

  4. Select Continue.

  5. If you are already connected to a wallet, this step is skipped. If you are not already connected to a wallet, a screen appears in which you can connect to a wallet, and you can select the wallet you want to connect to.

  6. If you are migrating to Polygon or EOS, this step is skipped because you do not have to pay gas fees. If you are migrating to Ethereum:

    1. A Checkout screen appears, displaying any fees associated with the migration, including the gas fee. Your default method of payment is selected so that you can pay for the gas fee. If you want to use a different payment method, you can choose to do so on this screen.

    2. After confirming the payment method (if needed), select Confirm.

  7. The migration process begins, and you will be sent an email once it has been completed.
