Voice Tokens are a part of the Voice marketplace encouraging users to share and create content. You collect Voice Tokens through participating on Voice and interacting with others, which can then be used to become Top Voice on a post.
Currently you earn Voice Tokens on signup.
The amount of tokens for signing up is 30 days of daily Voice Tokens, calculated at the daily Tokens rate in effect at the time of sign up. This gives you Voice Tokens to collect so you can immediately engage with others through Voice It.
Daily Voice Tokens
If you are in good standing on Voice (your account is not in Mute), each day you will earn Voice Tokens to collect. You must sign in to collect these tokens at least once every 7 days or they will be taken out of circulation.
The Voice It amount starts at 1.0 Voice Token the first time a post is voiced and increases by roughly 30% each additional time the post is Voiced. The first time a post gets Voiced, 100% of the Voice It amount (1.0 Voice Token) goes to the author of the post. When another user becomes Top Voice, the previous Top Voice is refunded 100% of their Voice It amount. The increase is then divided as follows:
- 33% of the increase goes to the post author
- 33% goes to the curator (previous Top Voice)
- The remainder is taken out of circulation.
Let’s say Olivia Lee has posted about the future of space travel. You decide what she has posted needs to be promoted on Voice.
At the top of the post is a button with “Voice It for 1.0.” You click on that to voice Olivia’s post. Olivia then gets 1.0 Voice Tokens and you become Top Voice. Along comes Zane. He wants to voice Olivia’s post. The Voice It amount is now 1.3 (1.0 that you originally paid plus 0.3 increase). Zane voices the post for 1.3 and becomes Top Voice. Olivia gets 0.1. You get your original 1.0 plus 0.1, and 0.1 is removed from circulation.
Note: You must collect your Voice Tokens before you can use them to Voice It.
Posts and comments receiving 10 or more likes are eligible for Like earnings. Immediately after someone creates a post or comment, an activity meter begins gauging the popularity of the content by counting new likes. When 24 hours pass with no new likes, the activity meter expires, and the content is no longer considered trending. Content can still be liked, but new likes no longer count towards Like earnings.
The amount of Like earnings you receive are based on the popularity of your content relative to the popularity of other users’ content during the same period. The more popular the content, the moreLike earnings received.
