What is sending an airdrop?

Sending an airdrop is when a Voice account sends one of its owned NFTs to another user for that user to claim in their collection.

Is sending an airdrop free? Is there a gas fee?

Sending an NFT via airdrop is free for the sender.

Although Voice will be covering airdrop fees on Polygon for claimers, in the future, there will be applicable gas fees to claim an NFT on other blockchains such as Ethereum. For the latest news on this and all things Voice, please subscribe to our newsletter, our social media, and our Discord channel: #announcements.

Why would I want to send an NFT?

Sending an NFT can help to share your work with new audiences and provide access to your art. This feature can also be a great way to promote a new project or as bonus/unlockable content with the purchase of an NFT. The possibilities are endless.

What NFTs can I airdrop?

To send an NFT via airdrop, the NFT must:

  • Be owned by you and within your account Voice.com collection.

  • Not be currently listed for sale or auction.

  • Not be sent off-platform on another blockchain.

  • NFTs that are set to mint on the Polygon chain upon claiming. ( Ethereum NFTs are not yet available for airdrops on Voice )

How do I send an NFT via airdrop?

Before you begin

  • Log in to your Voice account.

  • Ensure your NFT meets the criteria outlined in the "What NFTs can I send?" FAQ.

Steps

  1. Visit the listing page for the NFT you want to send.

  2. Click the button with the "paper airplane icon" located under the NFT media.

  3. From here, you'll see a pop-up where you can choose to send your NFT directly to a Voice user through their username or send it to an email address.

    1. Send to Voice user. Send your NFT to a friend or supporter via their Voice username. In the text box under "Add recipient" input the username of the Voice account you'd like to send your NFT directly, then click the "Submit" button when ready.

Note: Be sure to double-check the spelling of the username. Entering the wrong username can lead to an error or sending your NFT to the wrong person.

    2. Send to email. Send your NFT to a friend or supporter via email. In the text box under "Recipient" input the email address of the person you'd like to send your NFT directly, then click the "Submit" button when ready.

Note: Be sure to double-check the spelling of the email address. Entering the wrong email address can lead to an error or sending your NFT to the wrong person.

Pro tip: The "Email History" link allows you to view the email addresses you have sent this NFT to in the past.

Can I create a reusable link for an airdrop?

Yes. Visit the listing page for the NFT you want to send, and click the "Create link" tab, select the blockchain, click "Continue", copy and paste the link to share!

What if I can't send an NFT and/or see an error message?

If you can't send an NFT:

  • Ensure your NFT meets the criteria outlined in the "What NFTs can I send?" FAQ.

  • Double-check your NFT is set to mint on the Polygon chain. Ethereum NFT airdrops are not yet available on Voice.

  • If you've sent this NFT directly to a person in the past, they may not have claimed or rejected the NFT and will need to before you can offer the NFT directly to a second person. You may need to remind the person to claim their NFT offer.

Where do I manage my claimed NFTs?

MetaMask

After claiming an NFT in your connected MetaMask wallet, you can manage your NFT by logging into your MetaMask account on OpenSea.

Keep in mind, if you used a credit card to pay Ethereum gas fees for an NFT, an 8-day hold is placed on the NFT for the purchase to clear until you are able to list the NFT for sale or transfer the NFT to another wallet.

For more information on managing your NFTs on OpenSea, please see the resource page provided here.
